About The Project
Halsbrook.com offer a high-quality curated fashion collection to mature shoppers. Halsey Schroeder launched the website in September of 2012.
Since January of 2013, as an ongoing project, I’ve been helping with various aspects of the website but mainly user interface and visual design. The primary goal is to offer an easy-to-navigate website and an elegant shopping experience to audience which, as opposed to the majority of fashion websites aiming at young and technology savvy consumers, are an overlooked market of older women.
Halsbrook.com create a curated shopping experience and help its visitors create outfits based of even a single garment of their choice. They also offer suggestions on where and when you could wear it.
Below are some visual examples/screenshots of work we’ve done over the past couple of years. As mentioned already, it’s a work in progress and we’re also making the website mobile and tablet ready. If you’d like to know more, get in touch.
Website Design
Homepage
The homepage features new promotions at the top, and offers easy access to the curated Style Guide and new arrivals.
Product Listing Page
Product listing page, on top of the standard product previews, offers the option to quickly view almost all the details about an item. From Quick Look, visitors can add an item to wishlist and cart, or move further into the product detail page.
Product Detail Page
The detail page offers larger images, zoom-in feature as well as an advice on the Complete Look – suggestions on other items that would complement the viewed garment.
Curated Sections
Halsbrook.com offer complementary information on trends, occasions, trips, video interviews with selected designers and more. The curated shopping experience is the website’s top priority.

Email Template Design
For Halsbrook, one of the most important means of communication with its customers are emails. Rather than clean and utilitarian, Halsbrook wanted to design the common emails such as order confirmation, shipping confirmation, refunds & returns, etc. with a more narrative approach, and with added focus on customer service. Aided with the right copy, I’ve helped create the visual standards for those emails. Below are some examples.
Client Comments:
Having worked for more than 15 years in the industry one of my biggest challenge is to find a creative person that not only understands what we need, but also comes back with thoughtful solutions like Denis.
